Richard joined Smith Young in 2016 and is an equity partner with 20 years’ experience across the Retail, Catering & Leisure sectors.

Starting his career in Leeds with King Sturge (now JLL), Richard moved to GVA in 2011 (now Avison Young), where he led their Northern Retail & Leisure team, before joining Smith Young in October 2016.

Richard works on some of the most prominent shopping destinations in the UK including The Trafford Centre, Meadowhall, Teesside Park and Eldon Square, Newcastle.

Away from the office, Richard lives in Wetherby with his wife and two boys. He is a big sports fan and enjoys Rugby, Skiing and keeping himself fit down at the local gym.  He is also, unfortunately, an avid Sheffield Wednesday fan.
